AROUND THE CAMPUS
Chulalongkorn University is Thailand's first institution of higher learning and was officially established in March 1917 by King Vajiravudh (Rama VI). The university is named after his father, King Chulalongkorn (Rama V), who laid the foundations for modern education in Thailand. In keeping with the shared vision of both kings, Chulalongkorn University has upheld its reputation as an institution for academic excellence, where nearly a century of honorable tradition is perfectly combined with modern fields of study.

There are museums and exhibitions that are open to public, participants can learn and understand more about the university. THE ROYAL MONUMENT OF
KING CHULALONGKORN AND
In 1987, on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of its establishment, Chulalongkorn University requested permission from His Majesty the King to create a monument depicting King Chulalongkorn and King Vajiravuh who are also the founders of the university.
CHULALONGKORN UNIVERSITY MEMORIAL HALL
Chulalongkorn University Memorial Hall is divided into 2 parts: an office, a venue for permanent and temporary exhibitions and a museum displaying valuable items related to the history of the University.
CHULALONGKORN UNIVERSITY MUSEUM
Chula Museum, an exhibition gallery that displays both contemporary and traditional artworks. It is located next to the Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts.
The third and fourth floor of the building are currently displaying a permanent exhibition about the history of the university.
FACULTY OF FINE AND APPLIED ARTS
The faculty currently provides postgraduate and undergraduate degrees in Visual Arts, Creative Arts, Thai and Western Music, and Thai and Western Dance.
Maha Chulalongkorn Building the first building on Chulalongkorn University Campus, was designed through the collaboration of Dr. Karl Dohring—a German engineer, and Edward Healey, an English engineer. It was built by HM King Vajiravudh’s royal command to serve as the head office of King Chulalongkorn’s School of Civil Servants.
MAHA VAJIRAVUDH BUILDING
Maha Vajiravudh Building is now the location of offices of the Faculty of Arts, which include the Dean’s Office, the Office of the Secretariat, the Office of the Arts Alumni, the Information Center for Humanities, the Student Self-Learning Center, the Tai-Kadai Ethnic Museum and an exhibition hall for the academic work of Faculty member.
Boromrajakumari Building was unveiled by HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn on March 26, 1994.
ARTS AND CULTURE BUILDING
Office of Arts and Culture often offers free performances for the public as part of public service. There is also a Thai music library which is the first archive library that is known in Thailand.
BUS TERMINAL AT
SALA PHRA KIEO
All buses will stop here and passengers are required to alight and wait for the next bus. the bus transports us to nearby shopping centres.
Shopping center built to incorporate nature and modern life next to the 100 year old Chulalongkorn Park and CU Terrace.
Many restaurants are located here including 24 hours Tesco supermarket.
SALA PHRA KIEO
A venue that serves as a multipurpose hall with Chula bookstore, supermarket and SCB Bank located at the basement. There is also 7-11 at the canteen behind the building.
CU CENTENARY PARK
On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the establishment of Chulalongkorn University, the Office of the Property Management, Chulalongkorn University has introduced a new approach in land development by allotting a plot of land in the university’s commercial zone to create a new green landscape.
SAMYAN MRT STATION
Sam Yan MRT Station is located at the basement of Chamchuri Square. It is the Nearest MRT station to the Campus.
RUAN THAI (CHULALONGKORN UNIVERSITY THAI HOUSE)
The Thai house, Chulalongkorn University built on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the establishment of Chulalongkorn University by HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn.
Chamchuri Square is a shopping center that is popular among tourists and Chula students. It also has Tesco supermarket.
